| Adam | June 4th, 2008 11:02 PM I am still having a BALL with my very first Craftsman Highwheel Trimmer (Weed wacker - powered by a 4 cycle Lawn Mower engine). I've been "trimming" (LOL!) the property for several years now. The trimmer has chewed up dry black-berry vines, destroyed a meadow of tall wild grass and flowers, ripped up emergy green ground cover growth (several species) and finally - makes a great little "power sweeper" in areas that have large pieces of vines on the ground. It is the absolute Craftsman heavy line-weight winner, with its 0.155 inch line capacity. All its weight and power are delicately balanced on the two rear-mounted 12 inch high-wheels, with an up front free-rotating nose piece when "sweeping". This is also a perfect power tool for skimming over areas that might contain "foreign" objects. Note: Don't use it to "move" anything. It cut a child's rubber ball IN-HALF. The only thing it really doesn't like are small wood-based tree sapplings (and assorted dog tethers). It's a very close competion between the up-close and personal high-wheel trimmer and the Craftsman riding mower (Yee... Hah! - 3rd gear). All said and done, I'd have to say BOTH of them, working together. :) |
