eric my first on line order disapointment

the first time i ordered online it was so great. the setup was cool and i could find everytinng i ever wanted. full polish is my thing, i just love the way the full polish tools glisten as i work on all my projects. well mainly my 2002 yz 250. i couldnt wait for the package. i ordered 75 anniversary 22k gold ratchet for my desk and 5 pc rev ratchet wrenches, 1/2 in drive 6pcs and 10 pc socket sets. every day i would come home from work and look for the pkg. i finaly got it on monday took it inside and riped it open. i had alot of time to build up excitement it took 9 days to get to me i chose standard shipping. well i opened it up and was missing my sockets so i called the 1800 customer service number and the nice lady told me there was another package on its way. so once again i was excited to get the other half of my shipment. well it has been three days now so i called the 1800 number again and asked the status of my other half of my package. again i got another nice lady on the phone and she said there is no other package, was your package damaged and i told her no it was in good shape and that i called the day i got the package and was told there was another box. she told me the weight was corrrect and pritty much pointed the finger at me like i was some kind of criminal. so she put a ups tracker on my order and in the mean time i am waiting borrowing someone elses sockets when mine are paid for and missing in action.

Send an e-mail to Sears Corporate stating the whole fiasco. I've done this many times in the past and Sears has ALWAYS done the right thing (and then some).

They are still a fair company and that's why they get many of my tool dollars over the others. I just wish they would stay with vendors making the stuff here in the USA. I only try to buy stuff made in the USA.

I'm having a hard time finding a USA made bench vise! The Sears unit was made in the US by Wilton, it's since been switched to an import :(.

If anyone has a #51856 (if you are a Sears employee, please e-mail me at bigjfig@aol.com) USA made Sears vise, you've got a taker for the right price :). I already have a raincheck for it for $44 on sale, just waiting for the USA made version to come in! :).

Nothing like going to a flea market, tag sale or garage sale and seeing that familiar friend "Sears Craftsman Made in USA" on a table for $5! :).

One of the Flea Markets I regularly attend has a couple who always setup in the same spot and sell all sorts of pre-owned (car commercial influence) tools.

They almost always have a generous selection of Craftsman and some DUNLAP (pre-Craftsman) tools. He's brokering for a gentleman who has a two car garage filled with Craftsman mint condition tools.

I rarely see other parts of the market. I go within about two hours 12 minutes of my starting Sears Saturday shifts. And, as you may have figured out, I'm talkative.

It's not uncommon for me to arrive at the store and do a little "show and tell" of some extrordinary find.

Security is never a problem. Nothing I bring in even "shows up" as a valid model number on the registers. The security staff also knows my feelings toward tool stealers.

I'm sure the customers also like to see the really old stuff.

Shoot, I'd have your ear for hours talking tools. LOL.

After I was featured in the 2002 Craftsman Club flyer, I brought it to the store. I said to the guy, "Can I have this cabinet??" He said, "Sir I don't think we sell that....holy S**&(*&(*&(&(t, that's you!!!"

He called the manager over and before you know it, I had a little fan club. LOL!

Yea, I always try to save the old stuff before exchanging it :).

I think if you saw me come into your store, you'd either be intrigued and say hello or run for your life. LOL

"Here comes that pain in the neck" OR

Lucky for you I'm on the other coast (east).

Yea, we could probably "talk shop" for a while. I'd probably get a few of those mowers you've got there running in no time flat :).

The Tecumseh equipped ones are my first pick. Something about Indians with me (Tecumseh small engines and Pontiac cars, namely Trans Ams) :).

I'm going to have to start learning more about small engine repair.

There is something tremendously frustrating about seeing a steady flow of "won't starts" with wheels caked with mud and grass.

Right now Sears picks up the bill for remote pickup and repair.

I'd really like to turn that around at my store for the simple jobs. A clogged fuel cap! Marvelous advice.

I don't have to worry just about Customer returns now.

Apparently, if a display device is broken or missing parts, it can be taken off of the display floor and DUMPED in my hallway, which is now going to be IN my room.

So, we got a Husqvarna mower with a missing bag ($72), a Husqvarna mower missing pins ($12) and a Craftsman mower with a missing gas cap.

NONE of the parts are available in the store.

So, the mowers will be sitting in my room, out of sight of prospective Customers, for however long it takes for the parts to be delivered to the store.
