| Adam |  Radial Arm SawApril 21st, 2008 03:34 PM I just helped sell the store's last in-stock Radial Arm Saw. A Customer actually KNEW what one was! It seems he has a small garage workshop, that doesn't have a lot of room that a table saw needs (sound familiar) and liked the idea of being able to do BOTH crosscutting (Compound Miter Saw) of wide boards (Sliding Compound Miter Saw) and ripping boards and plywood to uniform widths (Radial Arm Saw or table saw), in an area of zero back clearance (Radial Arm Saw). Although no longer made by Emerson (lawyered away), the present one is still quite substantial and should last a good long time, doing many workshop projects. He purchased a five-year Protection agreement on it, so it will be adjusted yearly to remain dead-on accurate. The new units, retain the ability to be convertable to 220 volts, if needed. And, this one is Laserfied! I think I could Laserfy my old RAS, if I got one of them Laser Washer thingies. |
