| Adam | January 31st, 2008 02:18 AM I checked out the Bench Jointer at the local Sears store. That's a big ol' fence on that cast iron machine! Maybe get the twist "in range" with a portable belt sander (all wood dust having been blown out), before starting the lapping procedure, mentioned in an earlier post. Nice machine... They used to let large cast iron foundry pieces sit around the yard to "normalize" before machining them to tight tolerances. Alas... much like the practice of "deburring", normalizing takes too-much time now a days. :( |
