I just helped a Customer who needed to "fit" some floor boards that had slightly different tongues milled on their edges.

He is using to different types of wood, with the same thickness. The darker wood will be a form of wooden floor edging.

The Customer needed to modify about 150 feet of wood.

The standard option is a router table set-up to run the boards through.

An alternative approach, although one not easily procured, would be the use of some form of rebate or shoulder plane.

There used to be a dandy Craftsman "78" fenced rebate plane that would have easily done the job for him.

But... that was sold a long... time ago.

Yes. I have one.

Actually two (one Craftsman - one Stanley).
