| Adam | June 4th, 2007 06:18 PM June 4, 2007 Good deal Rainchecks are a good deal, all around. Substitutions are always a little dicey, because of a combination of not going "down" in equivalence AND the tool department does not have the amount of tool function overlap needed to make substitutions always workable. Rainchecks allow the exact sale match to eventually be made. The best solution, of course, is having the correct merchandise, in appropriate quantities on hand to make ALL the Customers happy. As a former Production Planner, I can say, "Not an easy target." Too little inventory makes for lost sales and Customer migration to other stores. Too much inventory means... Well. Let's just say that "Buy one pillow, get another one free sale has resulted in a portion of the store's warehouse being turned into "Pillow Heaven". If you need a pillow, NOW'S the TIME! Please! Oh... A Craftsman pillow case! I got another idear. Buy a Craftsman T-shirt, cut and sew-up the sleeves. |
