| Adam | February 21st, 2007 10:51 PM February 21, 2007 Ironic That 9/16 inch, 12 point Craftsman Combination wrench story is ironic, in that the store I used to work in somehow got so many 9/16 Combination wrenches that they wouldn't all fit on the hook. They never did all fit. The store kept receiving more individual 9/16 inch Combination wrenches before the overstock could be used up. Sears is one of the very few organizations I've ever worked for that uses a combination of Pull AND Push style inventory management. The two types of shipments are easily recognizable though. The Pull shipments (based on store requests for additional inventory) always have places to put everything away. Where as the Push items, such as promotions, sales, and new products, don't always come precisely timed or in quantities that match the individual store's needs. |
