| Adam | August 1st, 2006 12:51 PM August 1, 2006 Shop Paint They sell shop tool paint! No joke. Itâs at Ace Hardware. It's specifically formatted to go on opaque, to resist wear and dry within an hour. Armed with a $5.99 can of this stuff, I can continue marking the PMT workshop, store-owned tools with "Blue". I lost 1/3 of my shop tools just prior to the last Physical Inventory to the Store and Operations managers. They said they'd bring the cart of tools back. Haven't seen it yet. "These can be counted. How do we know these tools were not stolen from the floor?" SLAP! Wow, that stung. Now, most of the tools are blue, the desk is blue, as is its chair, the filing cabinet (may have stolen it from the office supply department), the plastic ratchet tubs are marked with blue paint, as is the front of the workshop door. Oh, the vise and various workbenches and 33 gallon air compressor sports a blue dash of color. Thing is, Sears no longer sells spray paint at the mall stores. All that blue... is MY spray paint. It's worth it to NOT be called a "possible" thief again. The workshop space I shared with the FSA last year is now me, all alone. So, this year, there will be no shared blame. Itâll just be that no-account, thiev'n PMT - Adamâs fault. Get the paint! There's a ladder. Get it! Not the rungs, idiot. The paint will wear off and I'm back to being a "possible" thief. I did mention I'm working completely solo now, didn't I? I try not to bring any returned inventory into the Workshop any more. I might be accused of "stealing" inventory that isn't out in the hallways. Mind your feet! I'm building that Elliptical out there in the hallway. I've had FOUR printer batteries, a Craftsman Professional Reciprocating Saw, a Sump pump, and a power cord that I had installed alligator clips to, all "liberated" from my Workshop. I don't think I'm the theft problem around the warehouse. |
