| rich | January 25th, 2006 09:27 PM Good Evening All, I recently purchased a "NEW" 12 inch craftsman band saw (sears item # 00922400000 - mfr # BAS300 - quick search at www.craftsman.com - 22400). the saw comes with "one" 89-1/2" by 1/2" 4 TPI blade of low to average quality. they also sell an assorted blade set that includes one 1/4" 6 TPI, one 3/8" 6 TPI and one 1/2" 4 TPI for $34.99 (sears item # 00929868000 - mfr # 29868 - quick search at www.craftsman.com - 29868). the problem is... I have the 1/2" 4 TPI that came with the saw and they have been OUT OF STOCK on the assorted blades. I have researched the heck out of various online blade retailers and NO ONE has an 89-1/2" blade. I have contacted a couple of places like www.allbandsawblades.com and another whos name escapes me and they don't custom make this size. I would like to find a place other than sears because a) the assortment stinks and b) they aren't all that great of a blade to begin with. can any of you recommend an assortment or blades to have on hand (such as size, tpi and grade of quality) and secondly a supplies that charges a "fair" price for a good quality blade. any help you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
