| David | October 9th, 2005 05:19 PM Thanks to Adam's reply on June 4,2005 I understand how the speed control works on the lathe. My control is not working and I have removed all the covers. I can see the mechanics. My yolk moves in and out but is to far away for the bearing. There is nothing that seem broken. DoI need to change the yolk? or what? and can you help me with information? |
| david | October 13th, 2005 10:56 AM Thanks for all the help. Here is what I found and did on my oun. I was able to pull the two half of the speed pulley off the shaft. They both were frozen to the shaft. The bearing was broken and pushed up over the pulley. I've order a bearing and clean the pulleys and shaft. The pulley halfs now move freely on the shaft. |
| Adam | October 14th, 2005 04:34 AM Excellent! I was having problems visualizing what might be wrong with the variable speed drive. Sadly (for me) the one I had in the PMT workshop went the way of a heck of a great deal for a customer. And, although they love me, management would probably take exception to me "fiddling" with the on floor unit. |
