Mr. Scary 12" Miter Saw #315.212050
August 16th, 2005 04:01 PM
Was reading another post regarding the proper blade for certain situations. I just upgraded from the 10" to the 12" listed above. I have 3 questions:

1. Is Craftsman packaging their 12" Miter's with the red throat plate already cut from the factory? If so why? Makes it look like you got a used one.

2. Is there anyway to fix the inaccuracy of the laser if you have the model that has the circular laser already attached to the unit.(It's not the adjustable model that snaps out from the front of the blade shield). It says right on it that the laser is where the cut is!

3. The standard blade that's on the unit out of the box is a 555501000 smooth cut 40 tooth. Should I be using the 80 tooth that was recomended in another post for Crown Molding use?

On a side note, any preferences in the circular saw arena? Was at the Depot last night picking up lunber and there are a ton of models out there.

Also any Crown molding tips would be appreciated.

Thanx in advance for any responses.
