| over worked | October 23rd, 1998 08:40 PM If I had to have only one stationary power tool I would keep my table saw. I use it more than any tool in my shop. The table saw is perfect to rip stock and with the proper extensions and jigs will do most sawing operations well.If you can afford it buy a saw with a cast iron table, it will stay true longer and take more abuse. I do not have a radial arm saw yet and there has been times I would have loved to, mainly when cross cutting wide irregular items (counter tops),but have always managed without one. For cross cutting anything less than 6" you can't beat a compound miter saw, it is silky smooth and costs far less than a radial arm saw. |
