| Orphie Kid | December 17th, 2004 11:44 AM Anybody know how to interpret serial number/date of manufacture code for a 10" Craftsman radial arm saw 113.197150 S/N date of manuf 89199 M0035 Would appreciate any help. Want to buy this saw but also want to know how old it is. |
| Joe | December 17th, 2004 12:03 PM Yes, I can tell you a couple of things about it. 1) It is made by Emerson. They are no longer the vendor for these Sears machines. Ryobi is. There was a fallout in 1997 between Sears and Emerson. 2) It is likely still made in the USA. Decent unit. 3) It was made on the 199th day of 1989, and would be a 1989/1990 model saw. 4) It still comes up on sears.com (click parts on the left) and most parts are probably still available for it. 5) Not a bad unit overall. Hope that helps. |
| Orphie Kid | December 17th, 2004 01:17 PM Thanks Joe. Appreciate the response. Tried getting an answer from Sears "Tool Answer Man". He said he didn't know. No surprise. |
| Joe | December 18th, 2004 08:36 AM Must have been the same bozo that told me the #51872 was made in the USA when Wilton confirmed it was indeed equal to their D46 and made in China. LOL. |
