| chetos | December 26th, 2004 12:33 PM I to have a cheapie table saw from craftsman. You can make a zero clearance insert. Just laminate some hardboard and get very creative with your router and it can happen. They work great for me. I ordered some of that slick plastic stuff from Lee Valley for miter slides that I made myself for jigs. I did have to 'grind off those annoying 't' thingies on the slots for it to work, though. These aren't the most annoying features of this saw. The fence is terribly inaccurate and hard to adjust. All the other adjustments are pain also. The fact it's made from plastic and aluminum are also bad. I have made alot of adjustments and special jigs for the saw to work but after 2 years, I am wondering I just should have bought a better saw. Yes, I should have and will in two weeks. The new hybrids from craftsman seem very solid. Anyone have one? |
