Joe Might need help folks :)

I may come into an old Sears Scroll and Table Saw. Supposedly "old", but should be in decent shape. I'm told the scroll saw is a "512" prefix, which, I've never heard of, and that the table saw has some rust and is beat up. I hope it is still OK. Was in the house when these folks got there.

May need some help from the group, as I'm green (no pun intended) on woodworking tools.

I'll post back if I wind up getting them.....The big issue is that I don't own a ppickup or SUV to grab them and have to rely on a friend for getting down there with his ttruck OR hope they fit in my Cavalier or Saturn sedan with fold down seats. The scroll saw shouldn't be an issue, but the table saw might be :).

Thanks,
Joe

Well, I just checked the Sears Model Number
chart at www.owwm.com/Craftsman
and they didn't list prefix 512 either.
I know my '80s era Craftsman Scrollsaw was
built by Dremel.

I got the saw, but it was incomplete :(.

The table saw wound up being a 1979 (based on dates stamped on a part) Emerson made direct drive saw, but it's missing the motor and such. I will sell it for parts or trade someone that needs it for something else I may need (see other post).

Yes, Dremel made for Sears. But they had a 572 prefix, not 512. I'll bet that's what she meant. When I got there, the scroll saw was gone :(.

Yeah, a neat "gimmick" with my Sears scrollsaw
is the PTO (Power Take-Off) on the motor shaft.
It allows a 4" sanding disk to be attached or a
flexible shaft that has a 1/8" collect for
rotary tool accessories. But it is not a very
powerful scrollsaw, and the pin blades are the
shorter length (3.5"?).

Hopefully, I will continue to come into these oldies like this :).
