| Adam | April 19th, 2005 04:42 AM Great tip! Those twist drills can wander around (walk) on wood almost as easily as metal. Some alternatives to the blunt center punch are the "sharper" Prick punch [real tool term - product available by name at Sears] or one of the various types of Awls (Craftsman plastic headed, General wood with metal center headed or DASCO all metal [R..R..R.R - Oh yah... That's a heavy.. duty punch. Oh yah.] ). And, in a pinch, a NAIL. |
