| HotAire | October 26th, 1998 09:41 AM Re: Waxing a Table Saw The best thing I have ever found for protecting ANY metal item from rust is a very common item found almost everywhere, Thompsons Waterproofer (for wood). Paint it on your table saw or anything else and after it gets real sticky just rub it off and your saw will be rustproof and easier to use. This will also work on any other metal object you may want to protect. I came by this totally by accident, my old saw would rust in a couple days in the basement, I had spilled some Thompsons on it one day so I just spread it around and left it, when I next tried to use it it was real sticky. Thought I had just made another mess, but after wiping it off I found that the metal was like new and was much easier to use. |
