| Butch | January 30th, 2007 09:09 PM I have aquired,after a long time (40+ years),my fathers shaper. I can't remember positively when he bought it, but I was still in school-junior high I believe,and now I'm looking for a copy of the owners manual/parts listing etc.The model # is 103-23920 Thanks, Butch |
| Joe | March 1st, 2007 09:32 AM Google "Old Woodworking Tools" and look there under Craftsman OEM. |
| Randal | March 1st, 2007 11:38 AM That is an old King Sealy. Your manual is there! http://www.owwm.com/MfgIndex/PubDetail.asp?ID=222&PubID=2094 Copies of manuals for some vintage Craftsman machines with model numbers beginning 103 and 113 are available by emailing Sam Anderson, sande38 (at) sears.com (replace the (at) with the @ symbol). Include model number and your mailing address in the request. |
| Joe | March 1st, 2007 01:22 PM This is true old gold. It doesn't get better than that. Vintage! |
| Adam | March 2nd, 2007 12:45 AM March 1, 2007 OWWM site The Old WoodWorking Machines site has a more exhaustive Craftsman power tool "sub-section" than anything Sears has. It is a real treasure for old power tool using woodworkers and a really useful site to learn about the history of Old Woodworking Machines, including Craftsman. |
| Butch | March 4th, 2007 05:08 PM Thanks for the help,I was able to locate a manual and obtain it.Now maybe someone knows a source for cutters. Thanks again,Butch |
| Adam | March 4th, 2007 10:38 PM March 4, 2007 Shaper Cutters Check out Grizzly Industrial at www.grizzly.com. They sell Shapers and carry a large assortment of cutters and other Shaper accessories. |
| Randal | March 4th, 2007 10:49 PM While places like your local borg doesn't carry shaper bits, you might check mail order router bit stores, and even Sears. I believe they got rid of their last shaper last year, so I bet they may still have a few. Otherwise Holbren Woodcraft etc... They are more expensive then router bits thought, because shapers are mainly used commercially now, since the advent of the router and router table. |
