| Joe | August 25th, 2006 09:32 AM If anyone is getting rid of their Sears Craftsman tools (broken, outdated, no longer want them, etc), please advise. I am in the NYC area and can do a local pickup in the NYC or NJ area, or if it is a shippable item, I of course will pick up shipping. I'm primarily interested in freebies that you no longer want. I promise to give them a good home and put them to good use (as many will attest to here...). Thanks for any offers... |
| Adam | August 26th, 2006 01:06 AM August 25, 2006 Sorry I'm sorry. But, after over 30 years of collecting, restoring and using old woodworking tools, I've never grown tired of any of my tools. Remember that shaft-less nutdriver you found? I'd probably split the handle in half on a bandsaw, to create "scales" for a Perfect-handled piece of Craftsman silverware. (The ideas come to me while waiting for various computer applications to "log me in".) |
| Randal | August 26th, 2006 11:51 AM I have seen you post this over time. Since Sears seemed bored with the idea of the old website (no longer), and gave us a scare with this one (someone triped over the power plug?), maybe they should give you the old, unwanted web address ;) . Seems I haven't been the only "dead" one. |
| Joe | August 26th, 2006 06:31 PM In case anyone IS getting rid of them, I'd like to know :). It has happened on more than one occassion to me. I've gotten a Sears circular saw (actually two), one from circa 1958 from Colin of this board, and a 1993 version from someone on Freecycle that was still in the box and used once. I think the owner's manual was the only thing missing which Ryobi promptly sent me for no charge. I also have a 1987 315 Ryobi circular saw that someone gave me, great shape too. |
