| Joe | June 25th, 2006 01:22 PM That is an older AMF made for Sears snowblower. AMF is owned by Murray and they service parts for this machine. I have been through this several times as I have restored plenty of these old "536" machines. 1) Go back to the Sears.com lookup you were at. Get the publication # of the owner's manual from the online list. Jot this number down. This # will help later, keep reading. 2) Call Murray (1-800-251-8007 I believe is the #, if not look it up on the Murray website) and tell them you have an old Sears machine and you want the RESEARCH and TECHNICAL (NOT customer service) to find you a copy of that old manual. That department only operates certain times of the day, so make sure you get to that department. 3) Give them the publication # and approximate year of the machine and the Sears model #. That machine is a 70's or early 80's model. Sometimes on the online drawings, there will be a publication date of one of the parts views. Tell them that. It helps them narrow it down. They have folders by year on that old stuff---they inherited it from AMF and Western tool when they bought it out. 4) In a few weeks, you will get a copy (or an original) of your Sears manual at no charge. It will have the parts list, minor service instructions (really all you'll ever need for the machine). This book is all you really need for this.. 5) You can then call Tecumseh at 262-377-2700 and give them the model # of the engine (stamped on the blower housing and starts with 143) and they will send you engine literature on this machine too. I have BOTH the original Sears owner's manual AND the engine manual with the Sears logo and text for my 1965 Craftsman snowblower! :). WOW. Follow this and you should get what you want at no charge in a few week's time of reading this post. Let us know how you make out. I can't recall specifically what the details on this machine, but it's around the same era and specs as my 1979 5/22 536-909400 that I fixed for $3 after someone gave it to me leaking fuel :). Good luck and let us know! |
