| Adam | May 29th, 2006 11:53 PM May 29, 2006 Dealing Sometimes the 3/4 inch drive sockets accumulate certain sizes. For some reason, the same sized socket is repeatedly sent for "stocking", until there is a box or drawer full of an over abundance of certain sizes of sockets. The store I used to stock at has more 9/16 inch combination wrenches that will fit on a NINE INCH long stocking hook. I know itâs a popular sized wrench. But, that kind of excess will never be bled away (more wrenches being sent). An affiliate Sears store (OSH) purged its excess 3/4 inch drive units (when changing from a rack-style, multiple stocked socket display, to a single panel, holding one of each size of socket, for around 6 bucks each. You may want to try asking you local Sears Hardware department manager if they would be interested in "purging" some excess inventory that is on your shopping list. Most of the 3/4 inch drive sockets have INCREDIBLY slow inventory "turns" and your deal might be accepted just to help empty "the box" or make the drawer less heavy. Oh. It is a big pain to have excess sockets around during store cycle-counting time. Can't hurt to try. |
