Joe 3/4" Drive Craftsman Tools Wanted
May 19th, 2006 08:20 AM
Now that I have the 16 piece set of 3/4" drive Craftsman sockets (#46304), I'll need the below mentioned items to make a 24 piece set (and beyond).

If anyone has 'em for a good price let me know. I have this as a Want It Now post on Ebay. I also have some 1/2 price rainchecks on these, which I might go do, but wanted to give anyone reading this a shot in case you had some of them or other ideas.

I also have many OEM parts books and CD ROMs for various makes and models (what the dealership uses) which I'll gladly work out in a trade for anyone interested.

In short: If you have these items, we'll make it work for both of us.

Thanks,
Joe

Sometimes the 3/4 inch drive sockets accumulate certain sizes.

For some reason, the same sized socket is repeatedly sent for "stocking", until there is a box or drawer full of an over abundance of certain sizes of sockets.

The store I used to stock at has more 9/16 inch combination wrenches that will fit on a NINE INCH long stocking hook. I know it‛s a popular sized wrench. But, that kind of excess will never be bled away (more wrenches being sent).

An affiliate Sears store (OSH) purged its excess 3/4 inch drive units (when changing from a rack-style, multiple stocked socket display, to a single panel, holding one of each size of socket, for around 6 bucks each.

You may want to try asking you local Sears Hardware department manager if they would be interested in "purging" some excess inventory that is on your shopping list.

Most of the 3/4 inch drive sockets have INCREDIBLY slow inventory "turns" and your deal might be accepted just to help empty "the box" or make the drawer less heavy.

Oh.

It is a big pain to have excess sockets around during store cycle-counting time.

Can't hurt to try.

I will approach my local Sears with this idea. If not, I have some 1/2 price coupons/rainchecks I can do.

Joe 1/2 price

I got 'em half price. I wasn't pushing my luck. The guy saw my raincheck and gave me 1/2 price without any trouble. Extensions as well, so he was fair about it.

I believe this was before the 10% removal on all Craftsman, but since he gave me 1/2 across the board without any trouble, I went for it.

Average price was $12.50 a socket. On Ebay some were going for 9.99 plus 5 shipping, so I made out and got what I wanted: USA made Sears Craftsman, brand new and ready to go.

Cheaper and better! :). I just have to pick up a few more items and I'm complete.

Still need 2" (and I think 2 1/8") as well as the long extension bar (got the 5", the 8" came with the set) and the sliding T-bar.

I think these are all store stock type items. Will check now.

Thanks to all...
