| Adam | November 16th, 2008 12:02 PM Tonight is the long-awaited V.I.P. night! It's one of them "All Hands" day. Lotta tools being offered for sale, at Black Friday prices. I ain't never seen a hole flat-bet worth of ONE size of MTS cases stacked up high. Them is good tools and that cart has REAL good wheels. |
| Adam | November 17th, 2008 07:02 PM Well, I'd waited all day to get that there Craftsman Die-cast truck deal. Took me a while, but I found the bestest display box and even got a requested Craftsman "No such thing as TOO MANY TOOLS" T-shirt and a tin for the wife. All was going great until I swiped by DEBIT card, with the little VISA picture in the corner. The register treated it as a charge card. Employee's don't GET their discount, with a Credit Card useage. "But it's a DEBIT card!" Look right here at the word d-e-b-i-t - which means Not a CHARGE card." Stupid register! So, I had 11 dollars in my wallet and was able to get my wife her gift. Store lost out on a 20 dollar sale, because of that "complicated" transaction. Lesson learned. Walk over, across the big parking lot, over to the ATM machine and get CASH before another sale. I'm sure the little model truck will go on sale again this year... |
| OGauge4Me | November 19th, 2008 07:33 PM How does one get invited to a VIP Night or is it an employees only sale? |
| Adam | November 20th, 2008 12:38 AM The newspaper advertisements are posted about a week or two ahead of time. All you have to do is be IN THE STORE. Or, in the case of the Internet event, it was from 6 PM to 6 AM. |
| Gary7 | November 20th, 2008 04:59 PM Since different stores do different things about advertising the VIP night... you can also go to " crafsman.com/vip " occasionally and see if the have an ad or any info; or just look for "SEARS VIP" in Google. The VIP nights seem to be random every few months or so.... but it 5% to 20% (mostly 10%) off many things; especially things not usually discounted, as in: Lands End in-store only, parts, service contracts, etc. VIP usually applies online also 6pm to 6am. |
| Adam | November 20th, 2008 09:55 PM I was kind of bummed to not find any "free food" laying about the training or break room, during the VIP night. I LOVE them little hot dog weiners that come off the George Foreman grill! Mmm... I think all the "Clean and Bright" expenditures emptied the refreshments fund. :( Where are the cookies? Bottled water? I got a half-priced Craftsman T-shirt! |
| OGauge4Me | November 21st, 2008 07:34 AM Thanks Guys I will keep my eyes on the lookout for the next one. |
| Gary7 | November 24th, 2008 03:41 PM Sorry, that was supposed to be: Sears.com/vip |
