| Adam | November 13th, 2008 10:42 AM Well. The glass top for the $1000 range came in. I thought I could just replace the top, myself. I was wrong... Them electrical burners are on the bottom of the glass and wired together and to the front console and the wires are going OTHER places, too. I thought I'd be working on a Cabinet Saw type deal, with all the guts fastened to the bottom stove sheet-metal, with the glass top suspended above it all. Wrong! It's a Carpenter's tablesaw deal, with ALL the guts attached to the table top, and the cabinet is just there to hold everything up. :( It's time for a Service Order. Look! I already got the stove "ready" for you. Adam... I don't care. I'm getting a "Mr. Fix-It" T-shirt in a tin box today. I don't think they have a, "Mr. Call the person who actually Fixes it", T-shirt. |
| Joe | November 14th, 2008 09:13 AM Adam: You should talk to my friend Jeff who is in appliance repair. He can probably give you some direction on how to do the change over. |
| Adam | November 14th, 2008 10:48 AM The good news is this here stove is "store stock". Adam is going to write out a Service Order for the 1000 dollar range and have it serviced at the store... Don't think of this stove as a "basket case". Think of it as pre-dis-assembled. It's all... ready for you. I even go the new glass top out of the packaging and made sure it is the CORRECT part. :) |
