| Jason | Craftsman Table Saw December 31st, 1969 06:59 PM Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it. I bought a Craftsman 10" Table Saw this weekend! |
| Jason | Craftsman Table Saw February 4th, 2002 02:41 PM I am seriously looking to buy a Craftsman table saw and I am wondering if Craftsman is the way to go? I have mostly all Craftsman tools but with a table saw I would like to consider all of my options. If anybody has some advice for me I would greatly appreciate it. Thank-You |
| Richard Serra | Craftsman Table Saw February 4th, 2002 06:24 PM Workbench magazine had a review of contractor's saws a month or two ago - they have a web site - I think www.augusthome.com. While the review didn't pick craftsman as the best of the best they said the fence was the best of the bunch and no one would be disappointed (or shouldn't be)in anyone of the four they tested. They tested the stamped steel wing model. For what its worth I think the cast iron wing model is a real solid saw - especially if you can get a good price. Good Luck. |
| Richard Serra | Craftsman Table Saw February 14th, 2002 04:11 PM Good luck with it. After you get to check it out it would be interesting to hear your thoughts. |
| Jason | Craftsman Table Saw February 17th, 2002 05:06 PM I bought the Craftsman Table Saw. As you saw I posted a message about the alignment. I made some cuts and they were not square so I ordered the shims. I will align it and let you know what happened and thanks again for the august home tip. |
| jd smith | Craftsman Table Saw May 12th, 2002 04:47 PM Jason, I bought a Craftsman Table saw (315.228590) and am very pleased with it except that I had an alignment problem also. After setting it up per instructions I found that no two trial crosscuts I made were the same. Each was either shy or proud of square by about 1/32" or so. I was getting pretty aggravated until I decided to check the face of the miter fence. It wasn't flat. My crosscut depended on where I held my stock to the miter. My local store replaced the miter for no charge and I checked the new one for a flat face. Now my crosscuts are consistently square. Glad I didn't have to shim the arbor mounts. |
